This comic was originally released just after volume 3, which introduced Alix into the crew. Alix’s background is a mystery and she is involved in something shady. We learn the depths she is willing to go for her purpose in the short story, “Signing Bonus,” after all.
This story takes place a few months prior to her joining the crew, so whatever she is involved with, she is in deep.
